Web development Roadmap-2025 (Absolute Beginner)

Web Development 2025

Hey Readers,

Today, we will talk about how a newcomer can start their journey in web development and what the roadmap looks like. Through this, they can become a developer in the simplest way possible. Since I’ll be explaining in very simple terms, I believe even people from non-IT backgrounds will be able to easily follow the flow. Currently, there is a good demand for web developers in the job market. When talking about web development, the first thing that comes up is its variations. Web developers can be categorized into three main types: front-end, back-end, and full-stack. We will discuss each of these in detail.

Front-End Development

A website has several parts – front-end and back-end. The front part is where we see the design and interface, which is called UI (User Interface). From this interface, we get our experience of how the website feels when we use it, and this is called UX (User Experience). A front-end developer’s job revolves around UI and UX.

You may be surprised to know that UI and UX design fall under another skill category, where professionals create designs, sketches, or pre-plans for a website. After the client approves the design, the developer builds it.

To summarize, if you want to become a developer, following these steps will help you establish yourself as one:

For Front-End: You’ll work on the external interface design.

  • You will need to learn HTML5 and CSS3. In simple terms, HTML5 helps you create the structure of the website, and CSS helps you make it look beautiful and stylish.
  • Once the website’s look is ready, you’ll need a programming language to make the website functional. I recommend learning JavaScript because modern and new frameworks are built on top of it.

After mastering these three steps, you will be able to create business, portfolio, resume, CV, or any other type of static website.

A static website is one where data is fixed and cannot be changed without altering the code. Only by changing the code can you update the website’s data.

To create a dynamic website, you will need to understand:

  • Databases
  • Servers
  • Connection protocols, such as APIs

Once you understand all these terms, you will be familiar with key concepts in web development.

You may be surprised, but by now, you are already a developer. However, you are currently a front-end developer.

Note: I have tried to keep this as simple as possible, so as not to overwhelm you with too much information. We’ll dive deeper into Back-End Development and how you can take your next steps in the upcoming post. Stay tuned with Intertwind.
